Review from Tak For Dit Brev´s first album:
"The songs-letters highlight Toldam’s unique gift to sketch strong, lyrical melodies that incorporate organically influences from Scandinavian folk and jazz legacies... In a way, «Tak for dit brev» offers some of Toldam’s today answers to the timeless messages of «Jazz På Svenska»” - Eyal Hareuveni, salt-peanuts

Langsyn (Farsight) the second album from the Scandinavian ensemble Tak For Dit Brev (Thank you for your letter) — is once again a series of “sound letters,” musical responses to bandleader Simon Toldam’s experiences and inspirations.
Sounds and tones need to meet souls and ears in order to exist. In that encounter, a sense of togetherness emerges. On a late summer evening at Gaarden & Gaden, one of these shared moments unfolded in the most beautiful way.
Music and space were created in a close dance with a warm, radiant audience, a lively and attentive crew at Gaarden & Gaden, and four inspiring sonic storytellers.
The album Langsyn is a musical distillation of that evening.
“At times, the impact of an experience is so strong that it leaves a trace — both uplifting and disheartening. The music on this album is a series of sound letters, responding to some of mine.” – Simon Toldam
The music carries both familiarity and curiosity, drawing from the simplicity of the Scandinavian folk song tradition, the immediacy of jazz, and the sound language of contemporary music.
The texts on the album cover were created by the audience, family, and friends, based on the prompt: “What comes to mind when you hear or read the word “Langsyn”?
Langsyn will be released on the Danish label ILK Music on vinyl and streaming.
